Will Harris Win the Election? If So, We’re on a Short Path to World War III.

Kamala Harris went on a kind of media blitz in early-to-mid-October after her Basement Strategy of avoiding the press failed. Americans wanted to hear policies and positions from the candidates, not just platitudes.

Trump speaks with the press constantly as does his running mate JD Vance. Harris and Tim Walz avoid the press as much as possible and have nothing sensible to say when they do answer questions. But there are exceptions.

In an interview with the CBS program 60 Minutes, Harris was asked whether she would meet with President Putin to discuss peace in Ukraine. She said “no”, unless Ukraine was also at the meeting.

The problem is that Ukraine’s dictator Zelensky has ruled out negotiations with Russia unless Russia agrees in advance to return all of Ukraine’s pre-2014 territory including Crimea. Putin has flatly refused to meet on those conditions and most of the disputed territory has been formally declared to be part of the Russian Federation by the Duma (Russia’s parliament). So, if Zelensky won’t meet without impossible conditions and if Harris won’t meet without Zelensky, then there will be no meetings with Putin and the war will continue.

There’s nothing unusual about great powers meeting to settle wars and then more or less dictating whatever they agree to the minor powers who depend on them. This happened in World War I when Britain and France carved up Eastern Europe and the Middle East and again at the end of World War II when Churchill, FDR and Stalin met to carve up Eastern Europe.

Harris can’t grasp that concept, which shows what a small thinker she is on those occasions when she actually does think. What it really shows is that the warmongers are truly in charge and the blood of 520,000 dead Ukrainians is not enough – they want more dead and more money sent to the military-industrial-complex.

If you’re an advocate for Harris, the good news is that she gave a straight answer to a question. If you’re an advocate for peace, the bad news is that she will lead the world straight down the path toward World War III.
