What Does Virus Control Have To Do With Bank Runs? We’ll Soon Find Out

This story describes one of the most dangerous developments in recent years. It’s a giant leap forward in the development of the totalitarian surveillance state.

We all know how governments have used the pandemic to increase social control. This takes the form of mask mandates, vax mandates, contract tracing, quarantines, and other intrusive tactics that limit personal freedom.

There could be a legitimate debate about these policies if they worked to stop the spread of the virus, but they don’t. Millions who were double-vaxxed and boosted got the omicron variant of COVID last winter and infected others.

This proves that vaccines don’t stop the spread. Masks don’t work either. The best approach was always fresh air, no mask, sunshine and exercise.

Instead, incompetent government bureaucrats like Dr. Fauci forced the opposite. The situation in China is even worse where quarantine concentration camps have been set up, and over 50 million people have been locked down in Shanghai and Beijing in recent weeks.

Can it get any worse? It turns out the answer is: yes.

At the same time, there’s a silent run on the banks in China with angry depositors demanding cash and finding ATMs are shut down and banks are closing their doors.

What does the red pass system have to do with bank runs? Here’s a good summary of what occurred, as reported in Sinocism by Bill Bishop:

“Some people who lost money in a recent Henan bank fraud case had their health codes turn red, for no other reason than that they had traveled to the province to seek redress for their losses. The abuse of the health code system prompted outrage online and in state media. Someone in the Henan government, probably in the Public Security Department, seems to have decided the best way to deal with the wave of coming petitioners over the bank collapses was to make it impossible for them to travel to Henan. Messing with their health code certainly is cheaper and easier than meeting someone with multiple police officers as they arrive in the province, but this may have blown up in their faces. Now everyone knows that certain relevant organs can manipulate your health codes status.”

In short, the Chinese government used the COVID pass system to stop people from traveling to protest bank collapses. The virus goes where it wants, but bank protestors can’t.

This is not dystopian science fiction. It’s happening now in China.
