The Green New Scam Won’t Keep You Warm

The scientific evidence that the Green New Scam is a scam is now overwhelming.

It started as a trickle a few years ago. Any scientist who questioned the green scam consensus was in danger of losing research grants, being denied tenure, or not being published in leading scientific journals. Now the worm has turned. It’s the climate alarmists who are on defense, and real scientists have been producing books, articles, lectures, and original research showing that there is no climate crisis and CO₂ has no detectable impact on whatever might be going on with the climate.

Of course, the climate does change. We had prolonged warm periods during the Roman Empire and again around the year 1000 AD. That’s when the Vikings were growing crops in parts of Greenland now covered in ice.

There was an extended Little Ice Age from about 1500 to 1900 during which you could walk across the Thames River in winter because it was frozen solid. Real climate change was caused by solar cycles, volcanoes, ocean currents, water vapor and other macro events that had nothing to do with man-made carbon emissions.

It’s too bad Germany didn’t get the memo. They spent the last 14 years, mostly under Angela Merkel and the influence of Germany’s green party, deindustrializing Germany. They shut down every coal-fired power plant, almost every nuclear plant, and built huge arrays of solar modules and windmills.

Guess what? It didn’t work.

Solar doesn’t work at night or in bad weather. Windmills don’t work when the wind doesn’t blow. Together they are not enough to support a modern power grid.

Germany also imposed so many regulations on energy intensive industry that companies simply moved their manufacturing abroad. This left Germans out of work and the GDP in decline.

Now, Germany is at the end of its rope, as reported here. Facing severe winter weather, Germany has decided to fire-up one of its mothballed coal energy plants. It may reopen other coal-fired plants in the weeks ahead.

It will take years to undo the damage the Green New Scam has caused in Germany. Hopefully this decision to reopen some coal plants marks a turning point on Germany’s road back to sanity and away from the false science and fake claims of the greeniacs.
