The FBI Is Good At One Thing – Spying On You Without A Warrant.
When studying the history of the FBI from 9/11 until today, it’s difficult to separate incompetence from corruption.
The FBI knew that potential terrorists involved in 9/11 were taking flying lessons, but they failed to share this intelligence with the CIA, which knew that the same terrorists had left a terror summit in Malaysia and were now in the U.S. FBI Director James Comey failed to refer the Hillary Clinton unsecured server case for criminal prosecution, even though it was an open and shut case.
FBI agents began a counterintelligence surveillance operation on President Trump (starting as a candidate) based on an entirely fictitious intelligence report invented by operatives of the Clinton campaign. FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe lied to investigators. FBI counterespionage official Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page texted messages that said, “We’ll stop him,” in the context of a Trump electoral victory.
As I said, the line between corruption and incompetence is thin. However, we did find one area where the FBI is highly competent. As described in this article, they are extremely good at spying on you without a search warrant.
The Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads, “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause … describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”
That sounds like near-absolute protection, but in fact, there are many exceptions usually based on the meaning of the words “reasonable” and “probable cause.”
The USA Patriot Act lowered the standard for spying from the strict Fourth Amendment standard to “reasonable suspicion.” Other laws have had a similar impact.
The FBI then corruptly manipulates the lower standards to gain even more surveillance power. For example, if they meet the bare minimum standard to spy on Mr. Jones, they also get to spy on all of the parties with whom Mr. Jones speaks.
Sometimes the FBI trumps up a case against Jones because they really want to listen in on Ms. Smith with whom Jones speaks, even though they have no constitutional right to spy on Smith. You get the idea.
The FBI is an out-of-control anti-citizen surveillance agency. Just hope they don’t spy on you and refer your case to Biden’s new Ministry of Truth.
