Victor Davis Hanson is one of our favorite writers. In addition to being a fine writer, he’s a historian and philosopher and brings great learning to the topics he addresses. He has also written over twenty books (I’ve read five of them with more on my reading list), all of which are highly regarded and used by students and scholars all over the world.

Lately, VDH (as he is known to friends and fans) has been writing on the causes of the U.S. decline in the economic, political, and cultural fields. When he tackles that topic, he steers clear of the usual name-calling, talking points, and personal attacks that are the norm in political discourse today.
