Biden-Order

How Bad Are Biden’s Policies For The Economy? Worse Than You Think

The new Biden administration is moving at lightning speed to implement its policy agenda. This agenda has two parts: The first is to undo much of what Trump did during his administration. The second is to advance the progressive agenda as quickly as possible.

So far, this work has been in the form of executive orders; Biden has signed more than 50 of them in his first month. Soon, the agenda will move to the legislative front with a $2 trillion COVID relief bill (really a Democratic goodie bag disguised as COVID relief) and another $4 trillion deficit spending bill planned for later this year.

Why are Democrats moving so quickly and aggressively? They realize the window of opportunity may be brief.

Right now, Democrats control the House, the Senate, and the White House. But, they may lose the House and possibly the Senate in mid-term elections in 2022.

The White House is up for grabs in 2024 since Biden’s advanced age and signs of dementia will stop him from pursuing a second term. So, Biden may be a lame duck in less than two years and Democrats know it.

Something similar happened to Obama. He won the election in 2008 and reelection in 2012. But Republicans took back the House in 2010 (remember the Tea Party?) and took back the Senate in 2014. Obama was effectively a lame duck after two years, despite being President for eight years. He achieved Dodd-Frank and Obamacare in 2010, but that was about it.

The Biden team doesn’t want a replay of that scenario. To see how this is playing out, it’s useful to consider just what Biden has done in less than 60 days. This article offers a good summary.

From killing the Keystone XL pipeline to banning new oil and gas drilling on federal lands to overruling local suburban zoning codes with federally mandated “equity” goals, the Biden team has already moved to hurt the economy and smash property values.

This is just the beginning. Worse is yet to come. For many Americans, those 2022 elections can’t come soon enough.
