Here’s How the Israeli-Hamas War Will End
There’s a lot of anguish in elite policy circles about the situation in Gaza and the war between Israel and Hamas taking place there. That’s strange because the situation can be looked at in a very straightforward way. It’s only the delusions and posturing of the elites that create the anguish. The left-wing activists are yelling, “Genocide!” That’s nonsense.
What’s going on is not genocide; it’s a war. People get killed in wars, including civilians.
The Israeli Defense Forces have done a commendable job of trying to minimize civilian casualties and have compiled a civilian-to-military death ratio that is better than many other conflicts. Still, the job of minimizing civilian casualties is made difficult by the fact that Hamas puts command facilities, arsenals, and rocket launchers in hospitals, churches, mosques, and schools.
Hamas uses residents as human shields and bears more responsibility for civilian casualties in Gaza than Israel because of these criminal tactics. The U.S. is using diplomatic pressure and threatening to withhold weapons shipments unless Israel agrees to a ceasefire. That’s an excellent way to guarantee that the war continues, and the killing goes on. It’s also a transparent case of pandering for a few Arab votes in Detroit to help Biden’s chances to win Michigan in the coming U.S. election.
Here’s the real story and the best solution to end the war: Gaza is a densely populated strip of land about 25 miles long and six miles wide with about 2 million people. It has three major cities: Gaza City, Khan Yunis, and Rafah. There were about 40,000 Hamas fighters at the start of the war. This is what’s called a war of annihilation in which you try to kill all of the enemy rather than just fight to a truce or ceasefire.
Israel has cleared out Gaza City and Khan Yunis and has killed a majority of the Hamas fighters. A remnant of about 5,000 Hamas fighters is now holed-up in Rafah. Israel is now moving in to kill them all or as many as possible. This may take until July. When that’s done, Hamas will have ceased to exist as a fighting force and the war will be over.
The U.S. cannot stop this. No one really cares what Biden thinks anymore; he’s too weak.
Is this scenario brutal? Yes. Violent? Yes. But it’s the only way the war will end. Any other scenario just sets the stage for a replay of the October 7 slaughter and defilement of Jews. The Israelis understand this. The White House does not.
