Here Come Da Judge! Supreme Court Is Ready to End the Deep State.

The U.S. Supreme Court does not operate like any other court in the U.S. judicial system. It is an appellate court only; it does not conduct trials. It rarely considers facts in its decisions; it’s mostly about points of law, although the court might take a different view of the legal import of facts than the lower courts.

There’s no automatic right to be heard by the Supreme Court (except in disputes where both parties are sovereign states of the U.S.). The Court turns down most appeals and takes up only a small slice of the petitions presented to it. Importantly, the Court is not always in session.

Each year, it has a term that begins on the first Monday in October and continues until late June or early July. The Court’s work is divided into “sittings” when the Court hears oral arguments and “recesses” when the Court considers the cases and writes opinions.

As you can see from that calendar, we’re just a few weeks away from the end of this term. That means we can expect a number of momentous decisions in short order based on cases that were argued late last year and earlier this year.

Here’s a summary of the most important cases to be decided in the next few weeks: One case involves an appeal by Donald Trump that claims a president has immunity from prosecution for official acts conducted while he was president. A ruling in this case would apply to all presidents (including potential claims against Joe Biden) so the impact is not limited to Trump. If the Court finds presidents have immunity for at least some official acts (the proper remedy being impeachment), it means the Georgia, Florida, and Washington DC cases against Trump could all be dismissed.

Another case involves whether social media platforms are exempt from state law bans on certain types of content. A separate case turns on whether the federal government can collaborate with social media to censor certain kinds of speech. This is a response to censorship of those who criticized forced vaccinations of the fake COVID vaccine.

Several other cases involve hot button issues such as abortion pills and limitations on gun ownership.

The most important case involves the possible overturning of what’s called Chevron deference. This rule says that the courts must give deference to decisions of the deep state. It’s the basis for the overregulation that we all face every day.

If the Court overrules Chevron, it could be the beginning of the end of the deep state and the intrusive bureaucracy. All of these decisions are coming soon. Let’s hope for the best.
