Affirmative Action Is Dead According to The Supreme Court. Bury It Deep.

The Supreme Court recently ruled that so-called “affirmative action” in college admissions is an unconstitutional form of racial discrimination and must be ended.

Affirmative action is the policy of lowering standards for black applicants relative to white applicants. This was always a form of anti-white racial discrimination, but it was allowed on a temporary basis beginning in the 1970s as a way to make up for the supposed damage of slavery and racial discrimination.

There were numerous problems with this theory. The last slaves and slave owners died about 75 years ago or sooner. No one alive today had anything to do with slavery.

The solution for disparate results in college admissions had nothing to do with colleges and everything to do with primary education, K-12, where students were taught reading, math, science, English, vocabulary, literature, critical thinking and many other skills needed to be admitted to top colleges and to perform well. Instead, Democrats favored the teacher’s unions who continually lowered elementary school standards to the point that affirmative action instead of solid skills was the only solution.

In my view, the worst damage was done to the brilliant and highly qualified black Americans who applied to top schools and were admitted. Instead of getting credit for their brilliance, they were tainted with the brush of affirmative action and treated as second-rate, even though they were actually first-rate.

The dirty little secret of affirmative action is that even as unqualified candidates were admitted to top schools, their drop-out rates were disproportionately high and they didn’t even get the diploma at the end of the day.

The colleges themselves were not unaffected. Names like Harvard, Yale and Columbia were once gilt-edged when it came to the quality of your education. But as affirmative action grew, the schools themselves diluted their credentials until today you’re not quite sure what you’re getting when you hire someone from those schools.

Good riddance to affirmative action. This article gives you a long list of reasons why that’s true.
