The New Green Scam Is Getting Winded
When rigorous math and hard science run up against ideological narratives, you can be sure that math and science will win in the end. But it does take time. Such is the case with what I call the Green New Scam.
It’s clear that there is no existential climate crisis. CO2 is having little or no impact on the climate once recursive functions and dominant factors are properly accounted for. And the drive for electric vehicles (EVs), solar modules, and wind turbines will fail.
That doesn’t stop the ideologues like Joe Biden and EU leaders from pushing the climate alarm agenda. Once you understand that climate alarm is really about multi-trillion-dollar wealth transfers from north to south and enriching elites with sweetheart deals, then the whole effort starts to make sense.
Meanwhile, good science is emerging to expose the scam. The latest contribution is this article.
It explains how wind power is a pipe dream. Wind turbines are repeatedly touted for their capacity to supply renewable energy.
What is not explained is that “capacity” is a chimera. The turbine equipment can only operate at about 30% of the claimed capacity. This means that governments will have to install about three times the projected capacity to meet demand.
Using these and other projections, the authors expect that the U.S. will have to spend $6.5 trillion to build enough wind turbines to meet demand for transportation, home heating, and factory energy that today is easily met with existing oil, natural gas, and some nuclear generating capacity.
To make matters worse, Siemens Energy, one of the largest wind turbine producers in the world, has withdrawn earnings guidance and expects continued weak earnings because it now appears that the wind turbine components wear out much faster than originally expected.
Siemens will have to repair or replace many of the failing components at its own expense. Its stock price has fallen 36% in recent days as a result. This failure rate combined with the capacity problems mean that the cost of supplying electricity to the U.S. via wind power may be closer to $20 trillion.
The climate alarmists are still winning the debate on talk shows, but they’re losing the real-world struggle on efficiency, costs, and feasibility. As I wrote, math and science do win in the end.
