It Finally Happened. The Green New Scammers Have Jumped the Shark.

Most readers have heard the phrase “jump the shark,” but not all are familiar with its origin. The phrase refers to an episode of the TV sitcom Happy Days, which ran on ABC from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s.

An episode aired on September 20, 1977, featured the cast on a trip to Hollywood where Fonzie (played by Henry Winkler) accepts a challenge to water-ski up a ramp and go airborne over a shark tank. A poor stunt skier risks falling into the tank with the shark. Fonzie, wearing swim trunks and his trademark leather jacket, pulls off the stunt perfectly.

Despite the successful stunt, the idea of jumping over a shark in Hollywood seemed at odds with the Happy Days franchise, which involved Midwestern high-school friends in the 1950s. In time, the phrase “jump the shark” became shorthand for doing something far removed from your original theme. It later took on more pejorative meanings, including the idea that you had run out of good ideas or had completely lost sight of what you were trying to do in the first place.

Today, when you see a politician pushing absurd ideas or a celebrity desperately out of character looking for PR, it’s common to say the individual in question has jumped the shark.

I’ve been an unrelenting critic of the Green New Scam and the climate cult for years. I’ve pointed out how CO2 is a trace gas with no provable effect on climate. I’ve noted that the earth is now cooling after a brief but not extreme warming episode from 1985 to 2005. I’ve shown how electric vehicles (EVs) will increase CO2 emissions since the electricity to charge batteries comes mostly from coal-fired plants, and the sonic exploration of offshore wind turbine sites is killing the whales while the turbines themselves are killing bald eagles and slaughtering other birds.

The lies and fake science coming from the climate cult is non-stop. Each report has more dubious assumptions and flawed models than the one before.

It would be nice to think we could stop fighting the climate cult because they are making such fools of themselves that the Green New Scam will fall of its own weight. Now, after decades of bad science, the climate cult has finally jumped the shark.

This new report claims that there is a definite causal relationship between global warming and the number of home runs hit in Major League Baseball. Never mind that the correlation does not hold in AAA ball, NCAA ball, or the Japanese major leagues. Never mind that home run seasons often come in streaks, and there may just be more home run hitters around like the Phillies’ Bryce Harper. What about the fact that annual home run production since 2016 is 5,800, with a huge standard deviation of 500 home runs?

The truth is, this “scientific” paper is junk science, as is the entire phony climate change hysteria. It took a while, but the climate cult crowd has finally jumped the shark.
