Ukraine Is Not the Biggest Loser in The War. The U.S. Is
We’ve written at length about how Ukraine is losing its war with Russia badly. The U.S. and UK media have been a continuous source of lies on this topic, so it’s not surprising that most Americans believe that Russia is losing badly. That’s simply not true.
Over 200,000 dead Ukrainian soldiers speak as if from the grave about how badly Ukraine is losing. U.S. financial sanctions are not only failing badly (the ruble is stronger than before the war, and Russian growth is projected to exceed U.S. growth on a percentage basis in 2023), but they have boomeranged to hurt the U.S. more than Russia.
Can the Biden administration’s policies on Ukraine get any worse? The answer is yes.
This article is written by distinguished Col. (Ret.) Douglas Macgregor. He was an advisor to the Secretary of Defense during the Trump administration. Macgregor explains that as the U.S. is supplying advanced weaponry to Ukraine, we are badly depleting our own arsenals in ways that leave the U.S. entirely unprepared to fight wars in other hot spots, including Taiwan and the Middle East.
Worse yet, the U.S. has allowed its industrial capacity to decline so badly that we cannot quickly produce weapons to replace the ones being sent to Ukraine. Europe is no help; its armed forces are a shell and their capacity to produce weapons is even weaker than ours.
This geopolitical fiasco comes at a time when the U.S. is most likely entering a severe recession, there is an emerging global financial crisis, the dollar is quickly losing ground as a global payment currency, military recruitment is in crisis because the military emphasizes woke ideology over fighting skills, and adversaries from China to Iran are preparing to exploit U.S. weakness in their own regions.
Macgregor writes, “Americans are right to be dissatisfied with their government. President Biden comes across as a cardboard cut-out, a stand-in for the ideological fanatics in his administration.” Looking at the wreckage of U.S. foreign and economic policy, it’s hard to disagree.
