Even The Kyiv Post Is Writing About Us And Our Publications

I use computer apps with word search algos to monitor the web for articles that are either of particular interest or that mention me, my books, or one of our publications. It’s a good way to keep tabs on what supporters and critics are saying.

A lot of what turns up is spam and clickbait, but some of it is interesting and some is indeed critical to the work I do. Surprises are not unusual. Still, I was more than surprised last week when I found my name and the name of our publication, Strategic Intelligencementioned in the Kyiv Post, which bills itself as “Ukraine’s Global Voice.”

Of course, the Kyiv Post is part of an extensive global propaganda effort by Ukraine intended to obscure the fact that Ukraine is a corrupt oligarchy controlled by neo-fascist operatives with roots that go back to World War II when Ukraine fought on the side of the Nazis under the direction of Stepan Bandera. It is estimated that the Ukraine IT Army has as many as 400,000 computer-literate volunteers who scan the internet and troll those critical of the Ukrainian regime.

The article I was mentioned in consisted of a list of supposedly failed predictions of Ukrainian defeat and Russian victory in the war. I won’t recite the entire list of predictions; you’ll find them in the article.

The one involving me said, “James Rickards, editor of Strategic Intelligence, was arguing in a late May blog “Ukraine is losing the war … Russia is making steady progress.” Well, that’s an accurate quote. I did say that in May, and again last summer, this fall, and I’ll say it again right now.

Ukraine is losing and Russia is making steady progress. Russia has rested some troops and rotated others. It has increased in forces in Ukraine from an initial 100,000 fighters to a number between 350,000 and 500,000 today.

Most of the Ukrainian gains were against lightly defended positions that the Russians quickly abandoned because they were not worth fighting to defend. Those Russian troops (really Donbas militias) were ordered to retreat to fortified Russian lines while Ukrainian forces rushing to fill the void were slaughtered by Russian artillery bombardments.

Now that Russia has regrouped and resupplied, a major winter offensive is about to begin. I look forward to reading the Kyiv Post’s propaganda next spring after this Russian offensive – if the Kyiv Post is still around.
