Fortunately, the pandemic is mostly over.

Mask mandates are gone (except for toddlers in New York City who have no political voice). Vax mandates are mostly gone (except for Federal workers who have no choice). Travel and tourism are opening up. Businessmen and women are getting back on the road.

Is it all good now? Not at all.

There are several after-effects, and they are extremely troubling.

First, we can’t shrug off what happened during the pandemic. In Canada, peaceful trucker protestors were beaten in the streets by cops with clubs. In China, people were barricaded inside their own homes by police and forcibly relocated to quarantine concentration camps away from population centers (and that’s still happening in Shanghai today). Family members could not be with dying loved ones.

None of these actions helped fight the virus. Today, the evidence is clear that masks don’t work, and so-called vaccines (really experimental gene-modification therapies) don’t stop the infection and don’t stop the spread of the virus. At most, they mitigate severe symptoms in some cases. The virus goes where it wants.

The best policies were fresh air, sunshine, exercise, vitamins C and D, and patience until herd immunity could be gained. None of that was done. Instead, bureaucrats without any scientific basis got in touch with the inner fascist and shut down businesses, quarantined victims, mandated masks, and worse.

Nowhere was the fascist impulse more on display than in the state of Victoria in Australia, particularly its main city of Melbourne.

Innocent citizens were arrested just for driving in cars alone. Civilians were scooped up off the street by police just for walking outside. Demonstrators against vax mandates were beaten and arrested. That’s the legacy of COVID in Victoria.

Can things get worse than this? According to this article, the answer is yes.

It seems that while authorities in Victoria were terrorizing their own citizens with lockdowns, they were learning new techniques for total surveillance of those citizens. Now that the pandemic has abated, the surveillance techniques are still in use. These include tracking spending habits, physical whereabouts, social media posts, and medical records involving both physical and mental health.

Of course, these records can be used for political attacks, blackmail, and behavioral control in addition to their putative public safety purpose. Importantly, the government is using payment information from credit cards at the point of sale to monitor individual purchases. This is another reason why elites want to abolish cash – so they can track your purchases online.

Governments all over the world are watching Victoria and taking notes. This surveillance will be coming to the United States, if it’s not already here. The real legacy of COVID will be the rise of techno-fascism and the end of liberty as we know it.
