Biden’s Ministry Of Truth Is Open For Business. Ministry Says, 2 + 2 = 5.

Most readers are familiar with George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, the classic novel of a dystopian future society ruled by a dictator called Big Brother. (The novel was called Nineteen Eighty-Four because it was written in 1948; 84 was simply the inverse of 48).

While the novel depicted a future society, it was understood at the time that Orwell wasn’t just making predictions, he was also describing a society that existed in his day – the Soviet Union and its satellites in Eastern Europe. Orwell intended a scathing criticism of Soviet propaganda and thought control of the day, but he also offered a warning to all societies including liberal western democracies about what could happen to them if they were not protective of rights of free speech, freedom of the press and the ability of competing views to be heard in public.

The climactic scene involves the torture of Winston Smith, the book’s protagonist. Smith worked in Big Brother’s Ministry of Truth, which was dedicated to official lies and the suppression of truth that was at odds with Big Brother’s propaganda. Smith engages in unapproved thoughts and actions and is singled out for torture.

During his ordeal, he is asked if 2 + 2 = 5? At first, he says no. After extensive torture, he finally says that 2 + 2 = 5. But the torture continues. Why?

The answer is that while Smith now says 2 + 2=5, he doesn’t really believe it. The torture will continue until Smith does believe it out of love for Big Brother. That’s the point.

Now the same types of people described by Orwell are being appointed to high positions in the U.S. government. These include Nina Jankowicz, the bird-brained propagandist who now heads Biden’s “disinformation” bureau, equivalent to the Ministry of Truth. Of course, Jankowicz has been responsible for spreading more disinformation than almost anyone.

She said the Russiagate hoax involving Donald Trump was true (it wasn’t). She said the Hunter Biden laptop was fake (it was real), and so on. In keeping with the practice of Big Brother, a proven liar like Jankowicz is the perfect official to run the Ministry of Truth.

He then puts all of this duplicitous behavior in the context of even broader trends that point toward the collapse of American society as we know it. You may or may not agree with Hanson’s analysis. Still, you’d be ill-advised to ignore it. The path he describes is playing out before our eyes.
